Flower: Summer-red berries in autumn. Height:36 inches. Position sun or partial shade. This majestic perennial has a long season of varied interest for herbaceous borders. In early summer, tall stems emerge from clumps of bold green foliage and each bears up to 3 inch blooms of deep purple tinged with yellow. When the flowers fade they replaced by sensational cylindrical seedpods that splits open in the autumn to reveal bright scarlet fruits that hang in he strong stems right through until spring. FULLY HARDY AND EVERGREEN.
